Definitions
1. A family of aerobic or facultatively anaerobic, spore-forming, ordinarily motile bacteria (order Eubacteriales) containing gram-positive rods. These organisms are chemoheterotrophic. Some species are pathogenic. Ordinarily two genera, Bacillus and Clostridium, are included. The type genus is Bacillus.
