Bone Cement Restrictor

Definition:
An item designed to provide cement support of the femoral prosthesis stem by plugging the intramedullary canal. It helps to restrict cement flow into the distal femoral shaft, increasing the cement pressure buildup, and increasing cement penetration into the bone from leaking out during total hip replacement.
