Corneal Trephine
Definition:
A surgical item which removes a circular piece from the cornea. It is used with a spring-loaded syringe connected to a vacuum chamber, which allows this to be attached to the cornea. This holds the patient's sight in a more natural state during trephining corneal transplant procedures.
