Culture Swab
Definition:
An item used in medical facilities for obtaining specimens from body tissues preparatory to bacteriological examinations. It consists of a rod made of various materials with a pledget of wool or similar material at one end. The pledget has been processed so that it has no detectable bacteriostatic activity.
