Cystotome Cannula

Definition:
A sterile, disposable item which is attached to a syringe filled with air or balance salt solution to maintain the anterior chamber during capsulotomy, or for opening a hole in the condensed vitreous face. It may also be used in dislocating the nucleus into the anterior chamber. Item may be formed and bent to conform with the convexity of the crystalline lens, and can be used with irrigating/aspirating machines.
