Dental Ultrasonic Prophylaxis Unit

Definition:
A unit consisting of a handpiece (transducer) with interchangeable tips, connecting cable with electrical and water conductors and an ultrasonic generator with water supply controls. The unit is used to dislodge calculi and surface stains from teeth by high frequency vibrations associated with a controlled water spray.
