Definition:
A sterile kit consisting of a silicone lumbar catheter, 14 gauge touhy needle with lumbar point, female luer lock connector, cap for connection to monitoring of cerebral spinal fluid collection equipment, and other related items. Item is used for temporary access to the lumbar subarachnoid region as a means of draining cerebral spinal fluid to reduce increased intracranial volume and pressure.
