First Aid Wound Dressing

Definition:
A reinforced, non-adhering gauze compress designed to be placed next to a wound surface for the purpose of absorbing drainage and minimize maceration. It may be treated. It is designed to facilitate emergency care or treatment of a wound prior to the availability of regular medical aid.
