Definition:
An orthopedic appliance which can be attached to the above-knee or below-knee sections of a cast. Item is designed to permit joint mobility, increased muscle activity, and early ambulation following fractures of the distal femur and proximal tibia. May be flexible, and can be applied in any clinical setting.
