Definition:
A laboratory furniture device consisting of a housing with an upper extracting compartment, an air by-pass, and which may include a working area. It is designed to exhaust chemical vapors and provide the working area with a flow of clean air. It may contain service outlets for gas, electric, water and air. Design may include such components as cup sinks, cabinets, and work tables.
