Litter
Definition:
An emergency patient handling device for carrying the sick or injured. It consists of parallel bars over which is stretched a rectangular flexible cover that suspends like a hammock. The parallel bar ends serve as handles. It is designed to give support to the body when lying down. It may be made in the form of a rigid open basket for greater safety.
