Obstetrical Extraction Apparatus
Definition:
An item which assists and shortens the second stage of labor in occipital deliveries in obstetrics. It includes a vacuum extraction device with a trumpet shaped vacuum cup. The proximal end of the item shall be fitted with a metal grip and a valve for vacuum modulation and release. A squeeze bulb included for cleaning the device prior to sterilization by gas or steam.
