Definition:
A disposable, pressure-sensitive item placed under the patient's pelvic area to monitor and alert hospital staff of potentially injurious situations. Item can also be placed under mattress covers, rubber sheets, towels or toward the back of a chair, and the cord plugs into the power unit. This item is a part of the bed-check alarm system.
