Definition:
A collection of items used in the treatment of certain dry eye conditions in which a reduction of tear outflow is deemed appropriate. It is inserted by the ophthalmologist to reversibly occlude one or both punctal openings. Can serve as an alternate to occlusion by cautery. May include plugs, dilator, inserter, flow controller, physician instructions, and other related items.
