Definition:
An item that may be fabricated from a single or from a combination of different layers which may be reinforced, overlapped and customized to bond together several layers when required. It is designed to accommodate immobilization treatment of patients for head, neck, breast support, exceptional detail and maximal immobilization, and/or complete custom body casts (prone position) during radiation therapy. It may have perforated holes which provides total contact with contours while allowing for ventilation and breathing.
