Q. What are the system requirements to run the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar?

The system requirements for running the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar are:
  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows (2000/XP)
  • Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later, Mozilla/Firefox 1.5 or later, Netscape 8.0

  • Or

  • Operating System: MAC
  • Browser: Mozilla/Firefox 1.5 or later, Netscape 8.0

Q. I have a MAC, can I use the toolbar?
Yes, providing you have one of the following Internet browsers: Mozilla/Firefox 1.5 or later, Netscape 8.0, then simply install the toolbar using the toolbar Firefox / Mozilla install.

Q. How can I find out which Internet browser I have?
On the browser toolbar at the very top, Click on -> Help -> About Internet Explorer or About Firefox. This will tell you the version number.

Q. When will the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar be available for other browsers?
MediLexicon Medical Toolbar is available for Internet Explorer and Firefox for the moment. The implementation of the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar with other browsers may be developed in the future.

Installation

Q. Why do I get an ActiveX error message when trying to install the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar?
Your Internet security settings might be on High. This setting will prevent ActiveX controls from running. To install the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar, you must have ActiveX controls enabled. To do this, apply the following steps:
  • From your browser, select Tools > Internet Options
  • Click on the Security Tab
  • Click on the Internet icon in the window
  • Change security setting to Medium
  • Click OK
  • Or you may try to reinstall the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar.

Q. The MediLexicon Medical Toolbar is installed, but it does not appear on the browser.
From your browser, click on "View > Toolbars" and select the name of the toolbar.

Q. Why has the installation of the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar failed even though using Windows 2000 or XP?
If the user is running WindowsNT or Windows 2000, he has to check with his system administrator that he has the administrative privileges required to install applications.

Q. I have Windows Vista operating system, will the toolbar work?
Full compatibility with Windows Vista is coming soon..

Q. How do users know a new version of the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar is available?

It is possible to change the place of the MediLexicon Medical Toolbar on the browser by using the mouse.
