1. A family of viruses that multiply only in arthropods; its rod-shaped virions measure 30–35 nm by 250–400 nm; genomes are of double stranded, supercoiled DNA (90–160 kb). Baculovirus-derived vectors are frequently used to express foreign genes in insect cells.
